Team Urspring, the reigning NBBL (German Youth League) champions, just came back from a two-week tour through China, participating in the 4-Continent-Tournament. During the intense stretch of 9 games in 11 days the German squad faced off against teams including Australia, USA and host nation China. Going up against college graduates who play professionally in China, the young Urspring team held its own, beating the US boys 73-71 in Pingguo. What a memorable trip!

After a 68-67 nailbiter in the semis, Team ALBA Urspring brought their a-game when it mattered most: in the Final. With a decisive 63-50 win over Berlin, the Academy clinched the NBBL crown thereby making it three out of the last four. Congratulations guys – we’re really proud of you!

The Final Four of the German NBBL (First Youth Division) tips off this weekend in Bamberg – and that’s business as usual for the K1X warriors from notorious Urspring Academy. Team ALBA Urspring is the only youth program that has been in all of the three Final Fours that have ever been played, winning an impressive two of the three titles! Keep doing your thing guys, we’re rooting for you!

Fu, Niels, Petros, Armin & Coach Ralph found the KICKZ Academy, which takes two dozen teenagers to the greek island of Crete once a year – to drill basketball fundamentals and have a good time.
